Marketers everywhere are taking note of the Tiffany x Nike collaboration – on what NOT to do!
In an attempt to attract younger consumers to their traditional brand, Tiffany and Nike released their sneakers at a price point of $400. Unfortunately, adding a swoosh of tiffany blue onto a black shoe has left sneakerheads wanting more.
With some calling the design “lazy”, this is a great example of how big names do not automatically translate to big wins! Some pointed out the high-end jewelry company could have added silver details rather than working exclusively with leather as a way to represent themselves in the design.
Future design collaborations should take note that a high price point equals high expectations – so they need to deliver!
